Bad quality August 30, 2010 K. Zimmermann I bought these because of a great Consumer Reports review. Received them and started using them right away. After two washings I noticed that the black color on the outside of the pans started coming off. It seems that they are just painted! Then the frying pan got huge stains all over it- it looks totally dirty, with baked on stains that do not come off.
Tried to clean them like recommended; no help.
Then I decided to call customer service to get the frying pan replaced, and that's what got me really mad. I got into the calling queue from hell- no way you'll ever talk to any person.
We really cook all the time, and we are so unhappy about these pans. Don't buy them, and save yourself a lot of anger.
Earth Pan August 22, 2010 MRD Bought this set for my son. He loves it. It got high ratings in Consumer Reports, and we were pleased with the quality. Heavy duty, nice shape, and good variety of sizes to start a kitchen off.
THESE ARE THE WORST PANS I'VE EVER OWNED August 7, 2010 JB15606 Amazon should really discontinue carrying these, they are complete garbage. I was looking for a set of healthier, less-toxic non-stick pans, and at first, thought we were fairly happy with these. The design is cool; it's a neat set, although they are not the heaviest pans in the world if you are a serious cook. They burn butter in no time. We bought the hard-anondized set. Then, after a few months of use, about 3-5 months or so, it was like not only are they NOT non-stick, it's like food is magnetically attracted even more to the pan's surface. We're just going to trash them. I don't even want another set or want to fool with shipping and the warranty. They ruin everything now. Even with butter or oil. Our ancient stainless-steel non-coated pans (that luckily we kept!) work better than these. I researched all of the new "eco" sets before buying, and we got these for Xmas 2009, and now by Summer 2010 they are terrible. It is SO disappointing. Please, do not waste your time on these. When we bought these there were 0 1-star reviews, and now there are 15, and I guarantee there will be more. Maybe better eco sets have come out in the last 7 months, I hope so... Oh, and they are definitely NOT dishwasher safe, as it used to say on Amazon, and still may, I dunno. Handwashing is such a pain in 2010. Work it out, Earth Pan!
very disappointing July 31, 2010 D. Grant (upstate NY, US) I bought a large fry pan for making stir fry and other large dishes. This pan was a mess from day one. I do not remember what was cooked on it but it left a brown mark. Then we had hotdogs one day and there were hotdog sized marks on the bottom. The last thing I cooked in it was bacon and even that stuck to the non-stick surface. After just a few short months the pan is landfill. (not very earh friendly)
I emailed the company and of course I got no response. Disappointing for sure
Sent product back July 25, 2010 Harry 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pans were too small. Looked good on web site. You really have to see them to realize what you are getting. Shipping was free but return charge was $17.00, what a rip off. I will be more selective about what I buy on line from now on because the cost for shipping to return an item more than offsets any potential purchase savings.
