P3 Kill A Watt Energy Monitor - Excellent Device   July 28, 2010 geostar1024 I had no problems using this energy monitor to evaluate the power and energy consumption of various devices around my house. The main consideration, as has been previously mentioned, is that the energy monitor will block the other outlet in a duplex, so plan accordingly. I also tested the energy consumption of the energy monitor itself by plugging one unit into another and determined that its energy consumption is indeed negligible. This is a nice cheap device to provide you with your energy consumption. It will also provide you with fairly accurate costs. It will not provide you with troubleshooting information, such as harmonic, or inter harmonic content. Flicker, or waveforms. So, if you want to reduce energy costs, this can help you identify devices actual energy cost. If you wish to troubleshoot an electrical problem, you should look elsewhere.
